Native Leaders

The long-term success of Indian Relay Racing (IRR) in the pari-mutuel industry will depend on strong Tribal leadership and respect for the cultural significance of the sport. For that reason, a central priority is to bring respected, financially strong Tribal gaming organizations into the initiative as strategic founding partners. Their credibility, gaming expertise, industry relationships, and commitment to Native economic development can provide the foundation necessary to move IRR successfully into regulated pari-mutuel racing.

Our objective extends well beyond individual races. We seek to establish IRR as a recognized pari-mutuel racing discipline conducted at licensed racetracks and distributed through national wagering platforms, creating new purse revenue and economic opportunities for Native teams, riders, communities, and strategic partners.

We will invite a small group of strong Tribal gaming strategic-partners that can help shape the structure, direction, and commercial development of a new Native-led segment of the U.S. racing industry. The opportunity to participate at the founding level exists now, while the key regulatory, racetrack, wagering, and commercial relationships are being established.
